Continuing with Pitt?

It’s great to know that you’re going to be coming back for another year at Pitt, but that also means it’s time to update your financial aid information. We will work with you to complete any and all necessary steps in order to ensure that you are ready to go for the upcoming term! Below you will find important information to consider as you continue educational journey.

  1. Complete FAFSA
The 2024-2025 FAFSA will be available sometime in December of 2023. Students should complete the FAFSA as early as possible to be considered for financial aid.

  2. Types of Aid
In order to make informed decisions about your financial aid, it’s important to know your options and know the difference between types of financial aid.

  3. Aid Eligibility
Be sure to review the financial aid consideration requirements. *International, non-degree seeking, and visiting students are not eligible for financial aid.

  4. Verification
The verification process requires you to confirm the data you reported on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In most cases, students are selected at random by the Department of Education for verification.

  5. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
It is important that you maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress in compliance with federal student financial aid regulations. The academic performance of students enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh will be reviewed annually.

  6. Financial Wellness
In order to effectively manage your financial aid, you need to be informed about all of the resources and options available to you.

  7. Student Employment

The Federal Work Study program provides part-time employment opportunities for students enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh.

    Veterans' Educational Benefits

The Office of Veterans Services is your resource for connecting with the educational financial benefits administered by the federal government for eligible veterans.
