The Pitt Success Program consists of Pell match and grants available to students on all five of Pitt’s campuses. In 2019, the program kicked off the largest restructuring of financial aid in the institution’s nearly 234-year history. Currently, Pitt enrolls more than 5,700 students who benefit from the Pitt Success Program, with the average student receiving $5,500. Since its inception, the program has been linked to a notable improvement in retention and graduation rates and student loan debt for all Pitt graduates has dropped about $1,000 in two years.

The federal Pell Grant helps students and families with the greatest financial need pay for college. The Pitt Success Pell Match Program will maximize the power of this federal program by matching it dollar for dollar. This University-wide program will be available to eligible undergraduate students at each of our five campuses (Pittsburgh, Bradford, Greensburg, Johnstown, Titusville).

All students who are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant, including part-time students, will receive the Pitt Success Pell Match Grant. The amount of the Pitt Success Pell Match Grant will match your Federal Pell Grant dollar for dollar.
