Congratulations on being admitted to the University of Pittsburgh, now that you’re in⁠—it’s time to start thinking about funding your education. We are excited and ready to work with you to make a Pitt education accessible. Below you will find important information to consider as continue your educational journey.

  1. Complete FAFSA
    The 2024-2025 FAFSA will be available sometime in December of 2023. Students should complete the FAFSA as early as possible to be considered for financial aid.

  2. Types of Aid
    In order to make informed decisions about your financial aid, it’s important to know your options and know the difference between types of financial aid.

  3. Aid Eligibility
    Be sure to review the financial aid consideration requirements. *International, non-degree seeking, and visiting students are not eligible for financial aid.

  4. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
    It is important that you maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress in compliance with federal student financial aid regulations. The academic performance of students enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh will be reviewed annually.

  5. Verification
    The verification process requires you to confirm the data you reported on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In most cases, students are selected at random by the Department of Education for verification.

  6. Financial Wellness
    In order to effectively manage your financial aid, you need to be informed about all of the resources and options available to you.

  7. Student Employment

    The Federal Work Study program provides part-time employment opportunities for students enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh.
