Supporting graduation success with a need-based, institutional grant that provides crucial support in the final academic stretch.
Empowering Students in Financial Need
The University of Pittsburgh is excited to introduce the Pitt Finish Line Grant, set to debut in the fall of 2024. This unique, one-time, nonrenewable need-based grant is tailored to offer timely financial assistance to undergraduate students who are within one to two semesters of completing their degrees. Prioritizing support for economically disadvantaged students at all our campuses, the Pitt Finish Line Grant is a key initiative aimed at facilitating our students’ journey to a successful graduation.
You are eligible for the Pitt Finish Line Grant if you are:
- In the last two semesters of your undergraduate studies, generally 25% of the credits required for graduation. Exceptions will be considered for students enrolled in five- or six-year programs.
- You have an unpaid balance in one of your final two undergraduate terms.
- You need to have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the University of Pittsburgh.
- You must accept any offered federal aid, including student loans.
- You have an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $65,000 or less.
- You must be in good academic standing.
This is a one-time, nonrenewable grant, designed to cover unpaid balances, allowing you to remain enrolled and complete your degree.
You will be contacted directly by a member of the financial aid team to discuss your eligibility and next steps.
The communication you receive will include details about scheduling a meeting with a member of the Center for Financial Wellness and Education team.
This first Finish Line Grants will be offered during fall 2024. These grants will not be displayed on the financial aid offer letter.
